There’s nothing better than a chat over the garden hedge with a cup of tea and a biscuit – it’s part of British life! But when hedges become overgrown or trees get out of hand, they can quickly turn from a source of pride into a source of neighbourly tension – or even attract attention from the local council. In some cases, improper hedge maintenance or removal can lead to fines, so it’s important to keep everything in check.
At Town and Country Gardening, we’re here to keep your hedges and trees looking neat, tidy, and healthy all year round.
Things that affect the cost
Several factors influence the cost of hedge trimming or tree work:
Size: Larger hedges take longer to trim and therefore cost more.
Accessibility: Hedges or trees that are tall or hard to reach may require specialist equipment, which can increase the price.
On average, hedge trimming costs around £80 per hour, depending on hedge size, location, and accessibility.
Hedge removal costs
Leylandii/Conifer Hedges: These fast-growing hedges (up to 1m per year!) are popular for privacy but take more work to maintain. Removal costs typically start at £300 for larger hedges, with prices rising if specialist equipment is needed.
Privet Hedges: Smaller hedges average £150 for removal, while larger hedges range between £200–£350.
Whether it’s a quick trim or a full hedge removal, we provide clear, competitive pricing and a friendly, professional service to keep your garden looking its best.
